<br /> "Funds are identified in FY 93-94 of the 1993-98 Capital
<br />Improvement Plan, to enclose the drainage ditch in the median
<br />of Cavalier Boulevard from Greenwood Drive to the City limits.
<br />At this time, it is necessary to appropriate $80,000 to
<br />complete the required design plans for this project.
<br />Construction is anticipated to begin in January 1995.
<br />
<br /> The Director of Public Works recommends appropriation of
<br />$80,000 for design of the necessary improvements. I concur
<br />and, with your approval of this item, the balance in the
<br />Capital Improvements Fund is $18,000,940."

<br />94-102 Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of
<br />a resolution authorizing the City Manager to submit to the
<br />Virginia Department of Transportation additions, deletions and
<br />classification changes of street mileage in order to receive
<br />quarterly maintenance payments from the State.
<br />
<br /> "Each year the City of Portsmouth submits to the Virginia
<br />Department of Transportation a list of additions, deletions and
<br />changes to the streets eligible for maintenance payments under
<br />the State Functional Classification SYstem as set forth in
<br />Section 33.1-41.1 of the Code. These roadway sections are
<br />located primarily in new subdivisions where the streets were
<br />recently completed by the developers.
