3]7 March 22, 1994 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, March 22, 1994, there were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Lee E. King, Johnny M. Clemons, John H. Epperson, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Jsanes C. Hawks, Cameron C. Pitts, V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney. 94-95 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, 1994, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." 94-96 - The following items were discussed in the Public Work Session: 1. BP, AC 1995 2. Urban Highway Projects 3. Home Health Care Services Update 4. Police Radio Channels Update Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. King, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions by the City COuncil as permitted under SUbsection (A)(1); (2) Discussion or consideration of the acquisition or use of real property in the downtown portion of the City for public purpose, as permitted under Subsection (A) (3); (3) Consideration of a personnel!matter involving the City Manager's staff, as permitted under SUbsection (A)(1); (4) Consultation with the City Attorney and briefing by staff pertaining to a legal matter regarding the Department of Public Uitlities, and matters of actual litigation (James suit and Adelman suit), as permitted under Subsection (A) (7). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Epperson pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of ~the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) only sUch public business matters ~s were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or Considered in the meeting by the City Council.
