June 10, 2003 36 1 <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, June '10~ 2003, there were present: <br /> <br />Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., *Cameron C. Pitts, <br />William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., Marlene W. Randall, City Manager C. W. <br />McCoy, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />03 - 203 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Manager's <br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2003 for the <br />~urpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />03 - 204 - The [ollowing items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Neighborhood Quality Action Plan Report - William B. McGlaughon/Susan H. Burton <br /> <br />2. Citizen Survey Report 2003 - Kenneth M. Wheeler <br /> <br />3. Path to Glory - Nancy S. Perry/Richard A. Hartman <br /> <br />03 - 205 - Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Ms. Randall, to go into Closed Meeting <br />)ursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 (A) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider the <br />following: <br /> <br /> appointments to boards and commissions, as per subsection 3; and <br /> <br /> legal matters requiring the advice of legal counsel, as per subsection 7. <br /> <br /> The subject matter shall be appointments and legal matters, respectively, and the <br />~urpose shall be to protect the public interest in having frank and orderly consideration of <br />confidential subject matter. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded By Mr. Pitts, 'pursuant to Section <br />2.2-3712(D) of the Code of virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members' <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by <br /> the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />2.
