May 27, 2003 At a Regular Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, May 27, 2003, there were present: Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, J. Thomas Benn III, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., Marlene W. Randall, City Manager C. W. McCoy, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. Mayor Holley recognized and thanked Councilman Benn and the Military Affairs Committee on the 119th Annual Memorial Day Parade. Councilman J. Thomas Benn III opened the meeting with prayer, which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Mayor Holley called the meeting to order and welcomed all in attendance. Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Benn, to approve the minutes of a Called Meeting on May 13, 2003, a Regular Meeting on May 13, 2003, a Called Meeting on May 19, 2003, and a Called Meeting on May 20, 2003, and was adopted by unanimous vote. 03 - 191 - Presentations: · Proclamation presented to Fire Chief Joseph Pozzo and Police Chief William Corvello for "Properly Identify Your Property Month." · Recognized the "Friends of the Juvenile Court Volunteers of the Year". - Public Hearing - 03 - 192 - Public hearing on a group housing use permit application: (a) GHP-03-03 RIVER POINTE NEIGHBORHOOD Frank Spadea requests to construct 58 condominium units at 3801 River Pointe Parkway. The property is zoned RM-75-K. The Comprehensive Plan recommends residential development. Motion by Mr. Benn, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to concur with the recommendation of the Planning Commission that GHP-03-03 be approved on first reading, and was adopted by unanimous vote. - Unfinished Business - Consent Aqenda 03 - 169 - Rezoning and code amendment: Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to adopt the following ordinances, approved on first reading at the May 13, 2003 meeting, and was adopted by the following vote: 03-169(a): "ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z-03-04." 03-169(b): "ZONING AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Z-03-11."
