Also, commented on Todi travel. <br /> <br /> 2. Susan Smith, 860 Greenbrier'Circle, Chesapeake, spoke on the appreciation for <br /> the March of Dimes in Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> 3. Steve Turner, 1705 Bradford Terrace, spoke in support of dredging Scott's Creek. <br /> <br /> 4. Nancy Lamarttn, 212 Chesapeake Avenue, spoke in support of dredging Scott's. <br /> Creek. <br /> <br /> 5. Heidi Ketler, 217 Chesapeake Avenue, spoke in support of dredging Scott's Creek. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Closed <br /> Meeting pursuant to previsions of Section 2.2-3711(A) of the Code of Virginia, to <br /> discuss or consider the following: <br /> <br /> appointment to boards and commission, as per subsection 1; <br /> <br /> personnel matters, as per subsection 1; <br /> <br /> the acquisition or sale of real property for a public purpose, as per <br /> subsection <br /> 3; and <br /> <br /> legal matters requiring the advice of legal counsel, as per subsection 7. <br /> <br /> The subject matter of the meeting includes appointments of citizens to boards <br /> and commissions, the possible acquisition and possible sale and development of <br /> certain real estate properties for public purposes, and legal ma~ters involving <br /> interpretation of the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The purpose of the <br /> meeting is to protect the public interes{ by ensuring frank and confidential discussion <br /> of matters for which public disclosure could harm or jeopardize the public interest. <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Moody, pursuant to <br /> Section 2.2-3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council <br /> Members' knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City <br /> Council: <br /> <br /> 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meetinc <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br /> 2.
