REVOCATION OF PERMIT: Violation of any of the above conditions may <br />serve as grounds for revocation of the permit by the City Council." <br /> <br />Ayes: Benn, Griffin, Moody, Pitts, Randall, Whitehurst, Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />- City Manager's Report - <br /> <br />03 - 69 - Adoption of an ordinance to amend Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth adding Article 29 containing sections 2-822, 2-823 and 2-284 setting forth <br />membership and responsibilities of the Craney Island Study Commission. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />· Adoption of an ordinance to amend Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth <br />adding Article 29 containing sections 2-822, 2-823 and 2-824 setting forth membership <br />and responsibilities of the Craney Island Study Commission. <br /> <br />Purpose and Need: <br /> <br />· The Craney Island Study Commission currently exists pursuant to an ordinance that <br />is not part of the City Code and thus is not readily accessible to the public. Its <br />membership is limited to residents of Portsmouth. It is not charged with safeguarding <br />community quality in adjacent neighborhoods. <br /> <br />· This action would make the membership and responsibilities of the Commission <br />more accessible to the public by placing the Commission in the City Code, would give <br />the Commission enhanced official status, and would increase its membership by adding <br />the City Manager and three Suffolk residents. Existing Commission members would be <br />continued in office. <br /> <br />· The responsibilities of the Commission would be broadened to include considering <br />the effect of Craney Island on adjacent neighborhoods in Portsmouth and Suffolk. <br /> <br />· The Commission would be required to make an annual report to City Council. <br /> <br />Financial Impact: <br /> <br />There is no financial impact. <br /> <br /> <br />
