H~wks and <br /> 0ulDepper. <br /> <br /> To authorize the Fire 0ommittee to purchase two horses, out of the regular appropriation to the <br /> <br /> Fire Depart~ment, the money used for said purchase to be subsequently reihn~ded to the Departunent. <br /> <br /> To accept a bid of L. J. Plummet for $34?,50 to take down the Haynor building, the acceptance <br /> <br /> of said bid being recommended by the Nayor. <br /> <br /> To appoint a committee of five for reception of the Zeague of Virginia ~iuni¢ipalitles, to meet <br />in this 0ity in August. <br /> <br /> 0ommittee from the Oommcn Gouneil Nessrs. Bilisoly, ~Brinson and H~nvey. <br /> <br /> To authorize the Treasurer to make a note for $15,000 to meet current expenses for July. <br /> <br /> To a~thorize the Treasurer to make a nc~e for ~t,200 for benefit of the- public schools. <br /> <br /> To authorize the Treasurer to renew a note for $10,000 in the Merchants & Farmers Bank, and <br />one for $3,000 in the Baz~k of Portsmouth, both due July 15th. <br /> <br /> To authorize the Joint Sewerage 0ommittee to advertise for bids to sewer the Fifth Ward. <br /> <br /> To relieve the Joint Public Property Oommittee from making further effort to sell the "old <br /> jail lot." <br /> <br /> · o grant the Treasurer a leave of absence for thirty days. <br /> <br /> All of the above were concurred in; ~nd the Bo~rd appointed Ar. Nontague on the committe~ of <br />reception for the Congressional de!eEation, and ~essrs. Eontagu-e and La~ghorne on the committee of <br />reception for the League of Virginia ~iunicipalities. <br /> <br /> Second. w~.tters adopted by the Board of Aldermen June 16th and referred to the 0ommon Couneil <br />for concurrenc~. <br /> <br /> A resolution to lend the School Board $1,400 until November l, 1908. 6oncurre-d in-June 22d. <br /> To appoint a special committee for investigating a complaint of J, ~m.
