Common Council. <br /> <br />Gentlemen:--Youm Almshouse Committee respectfully reports here- <br /> <br />in concerning the several m~tters referred to the joint Almshouse Committee September 8th mhd pre- <br /> <br />vi0usly: <br /> Referred by Common Council S~ptember 8th. <br /> The mdvisability of establishing a sick ward at the Almshouse mhd of providing a nurse for smme. <br /> It is recommended ~at a sick wmrd be established ~% the Almshouse and'mlso thmt a numse <br />be provided for it. <br /> Your Oommittee reports also thmt they have very lmtely found m need for a ward and nurse at the <br />Almshouse, and that they assumed the respomsibility of employing the nurse ~t a cost of $15 per <br />month, for which they request your mpprovml. <br /> In regmrd to the ward they desire to say %hat the expense of fitting ~p the same can be done at <br />a small cost, as mn altermtion in one or two rooms on the second floor of the bulldog may be mmde <br />to serve the pumpose. <br /> Referred by Oommon Council August 21st. <br /> <br /> To consider %he providing of qumrters for ir~tes of the Almshouse who are affected with Imr~u~- <br />geml or p~lmonarytubereulosis. <br /> There are nc patients at present at the Almshouse affected with these disemses, and the Commit- <br />tee do not think it advisable to recommend the building of m house for such patients, because of <br />the lack of Funds. <br /> (Signed) M.D. Buehsm~n, <br /> For Committee, 0.
