Larch 9, 1909. <br /> <br /> Mr. Watts offerred the following resolution: <br /> <br /> Resolved, That in view of the extra wo~ and arduous-dutieS, not contemplated~in~th~ usual work <br />of the City Attorney, in connection with the annexation proceedings~ an al!owanse of $500 be made to <br />the City Attorney for said extra work. <br /> <br /> The resolution was adopted, and an appropriation of $500 referred to the Joint Finance Oom. <br /> <br /> The fo!lo~ing~other matters were referred to-- <br /> Finance Committee: <br /> <br />banks to amount <br /> <br /> A petition <br /> <br /> A request of the Treasurer for authority, to make notes in the several City <br />of $15,000 to meet current expenses for April, 1909. <br />of policeman, Ralph Bendon,_to be paid $10 for time lost on account of sickness dur- <br /> <br />lng the month of February. <br /> <br /> A communication from the State Board of Education in regard to <br /> <br />public schools.- <br /> <br /> An appropriation of $150 to purchase a horse for the Almshouse. <br /> <br /> An appropriation of $550 for purchase of a street sweeper. <br /> <br /> An appropriation of $7'5 for purchase of a horse mowinM machine for the cemeteries. <br /> <br /> Street Committee: <br /> A petition of Mrs. John Mahoney and sundry~others to have changed <br /> <br />of Fort~Lane or Chestnut street in Park View, to Fort Avenue. <br /> <br /> -For a~ improvement in condition of the street at northeast corner of Court with <br /> The advisability of extending Washington Street ~orthward. <br /> <br /> The advisability of doing away with the bridge at south end of Washington <br /> <br />it with a culvert. <br /> <br />at <br /> <br />salaries of superintendents of <br /> <br />the name <br /> <br />London. <br /> <br />street and replacing <br /> <br /> l~b!ie Property Committee: <br /> A request of the Ladies Civic Leage to have "beautified~ the Land <br /> <br />the corner of Court and Nythe streets. <br /> <br /> Fire Committee: <br /> A petition of Phillips~& ~ahoney to-build on their marsh property between Court <br /> <br />and Crawford'streets, and Wythe street and the S.
