<br />Immediately following the joint session the Board of Aldermen and the Oommon Council will meet

<br />separately to consider such matters adopted in said Joint session as may require their concurrence.

<br /> Gentlemen:--Your Joint Ferry Committee are pleased to

<br />report that the Norfolk County Ferries were auctioned off this day to Furgus Reid and others of Nor-
<br />folk, Va., for $135,200~00~ per year for l0 years from April !, 1909.
<br />
<br />It is recommended that said bid be accepted and that the proper officers be instructed to exe-
<br />
<br />cute a contract for lease of the Ferries in-accordance with the advertised conditions for said lease.

<br /> Communications were rea~ from the proposed ~ixth and Seventh w~rds stating that at ward meetings~
<br />held in said wards on the evening of March 22d certain gentlemen were chosen to fill the positions
<br />of Councilmen, Board of Local ~mprovement, &Co, and requested the Council to confirm their selections.
<br />
<br /> A request was also rea~ from sundry residents of the Seventh Ward that they be permitted to
<br />
<br /> a "primary~ for the selection of officers for said ward.
<br />
<br /> The communications having been read, Mr. Monta~e moved
