Board of Aldermen--0ommon 0ouncil. <br /> Gentlemen:--Your Joint Ferry Committee are pleased to <br /> <br />report that the Norfolk County Ferries were auctioned off this day to Furgus Reid and others of Nor- <br />folk, Va., for $135,200~00~ per year for l0 years from April !, 1909. <br /> <br />It is recommended that said bid be accepted and that the proper officers be instructed to exe- <br /> <br />cute a contract for lease of the Ferries in-accordance with the advertised conditions for said lease. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted. <br /> <br />(Signes) R. O, <br /> <br /> On motion, the report of ~he Committee was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> Matters relating to ~he lately "annexed territory,~ <br /> <br /> Communications were rea~ from the proposed ~ixth and Seventh w~rds stating that at ward meetings~ <br />held in said wards on the evening of March 22d certain gentlemen were chosen to fill the positions <br />of Councilmen, Board of Local ~mprovement, &Co, and requested the Council to confirm their selections. <br /> <br /> A request was also rea~ from sundry residents of the Seventh Ward that they be permitted to <br /> <br /> a "primary~ for the selection of officers for said ward. <br /> <br /> The communications having been read, Mr. Monta~e moved <br />'draft an ordinance for dividing the Annexed territory ~nto a <br />nleations just read be referred to ~a special eommittee <br />ricers for said wards~ The motions was adopted. <br /> <br /> that the Oity Attorney be instructe~to <br /> Sixth and Seventh ward, and that the <br /> <br />of seven to consider and report concerning of- <br /> <br /> <br />
