362 May 10, 1994 At a Called Meeting.of the City Council on Tuesday, May 10, 1994, there were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Lee E. King, Johnny M. Clemons, John H. Epperson, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., James C. Hawks, V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney. 94-147 - The following call for the meeting was read: Called Meeting of "Please attend a held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 1994, for purpose of a Public Work Session. the City Council to be 801 the In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." 94-148 The following item was discussed Work Session: in the Public 1. Discussion of the proposed operating budget. Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions by the City Council as permitted under Subsection (A) (i) ~ (2) Discussion or consideration of the use of publicly held real property in the Churchland portion of the City, as permitted under Subsection (A) (3). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion of Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Epperson pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. On motion meeting adjourned. APPROVED - Mayor City Clerk Councilman Cameron C. Pitts was absent.
