<br /> On motion, the request of Judge Bain for a gate to east end of railing in. his court room was
<br /> referred to the Joint Public Property Committee, and his communication in regard to a Clerk's Of-

<br /> A communication wasrecemved' ' from the Reverend R. B, Garrett and sundry other ministers of the
<br /> Gospel requesting the appointment of a eom~Sttee to'confer with a committee of said ministers in
<br /> regard to providing a place to-which "~n~ortunates coming out ofhospitals and jails may be s~nt."
<br /> On motion, the~communication was referred toga joint special committee to be appointed, and
<br /> to ~eport thereon as soon as practicable.

<br /> On motion Of 55v, Brinson, it was ordered that the Olerk record the names of all members of the
<br />0ommon 0ouncil absent from this meeting as well as present, and that the same record be made for
<br />future meetings of the body.

<br /> /~nd on motion of~Lr. ~atts, the Olerk was further directed to notify the members by cards of
<br />meetings of,this branch, a day or two in advance of such meetings.

<br /> Er. Withy asked that the Joint Almshouse ~ommittee be authorized to advertise for bids to sup-
<br />ply inmates of the At~mshcuse with rations, clothing and medicines; and the request was g~anted.

<br /> On motion of ~Sr. Parker, the Glerk was directedto request the Joint Ordinance Committee to
<br />report the ordinance for renaming certain streets in the Sixth ~ard, as decided by th~ Council.

<br /> ~ir. Hmwks moved that the 0ity Attorney, Bezns~ructed to take steps to ~ondemn, if necessary,
<br />certain property at the south end of Orawford street, along the lines to be given him by the Joint
<br />Street Committee, and needed for the extension of 0rawford and Fmrst'stree~s' * until they meet.
