Joyce Miller Copeland, 2302 8th Street, spoke on <br />reimbursement for suffering. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. King, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, to go into <br />Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of <br />the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and <br />Commissions by the City Council as permitted under Subsection <br />(A) (1); <br /> <br /> (2) Discussion or consideration of the acquisition or use <br />of real property for public purpose or the disposition of <br />publicly held property in the central, southern and downtown <br />portions of the City, as permitted under Subsection (A) (3). <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Hawks, and seconded by Mr. Pitts pursuant to' <br />Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to <br />the best of the Council member's knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified <br />in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were <br />heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion meeting was adjourned at <br />APPROVED - ~ <br /> <br /> Mayor <br /> <br />10:15 p.m. <br /> <br /> Debra Y.-~l%ite <br />Senior Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
