February 27, 2001 Ata Called Meeting of the CitY Council on Tuesday, February 27, 2001, there were present: Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., *Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., *William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager Daniel M. Stuck, City Attorney Timothy Oksman. 01 - 64 - The folloWing call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2001 for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. By Order of the Mayor." 01 - 65 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: 1. CAR Appeal - Monumental Methodist Church 2. CAR Appeal - 516 North Street Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to defer consideration of both CAR appeals until March 27, 2001, and was adopted by unanimous vote. 3. Ci{y Hall Fa(;ade Replacement 4. Retreat Follow-up 01,66 ~ Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go into Closed Meeting pursuant to proviSions of Section 2.1-344(A) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider the following: employee personnel matters, as per subsection 1; and the acquisition or sale of real property for a public purpose; as per subsection 3. The subject property is located in the Churchland area of the City. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Moody, pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
