Progress as to same. A communication from Isaac Fass in regard to sale by him of oyster shells to the City. Prog. A petition of Riss Esther Reed, representing the Ladies Civic League of PortsmouFn, ~or an im- provement of the space between the Swimming Point and Hospital bridges. We do not believe it to be advisable to put 0ity improvements on private property, and recommend,, therefore, that the petition be not granted. A petition of E. L. Lash to have opened as a thoroughfare Scott street at the intersection of Chestnut. W$ have referred this matter to the Street Inspector to ascertain the cost of same. To take immediate action on ~he condition of West Park View bridge. It is recommended that an appropriation of $800. be made to put new decking on the bridge. (Wi~h Bixth and Seventh Ward Local Boards and the Oity Attorney). A proposition of said Local Boards to have Go.sty street included entirely in the Sixth Ward. It is recommended that this matter be referr~dto ~he City Attorney to advise the 5ounoil as to the mode of procedure necessary for carrying out the desire of the Local Boards. (With Sixth Ward Local Board~. To ascertain the right o£ the Norfolk & Portsmouth T~action Company to double track in the Bixth Ward.
