<br /> The report having been read, the Chairmsa of the Oonmnittee remarked that, although his Co.v~ t-
<br />tee has presented the ordinance for a Bacteriologist, to be elected by the Board of Health, as in~
<br />structed to do, yet he was personally opposed to the Ordinance, as he believed that, the Bacteriol-
<br />ogist should be elected by the people, and he would move to amend, that the Bacteriologist be elect-
<br />ed by +~he Council to fill the office until the next regular election for City officers.~
<br /> Dr. B~I~soly moved to amend further, that the BactermctGgzst smould b. instructed to examine
<br />samples of water, when requested so to do by the Board of Water Ocrmmissioners. The amendment offered by Dr. Bilisolywas adopted.
<br /> And the amendment by the Chairman of the Conmzittee was lost.
<br /> Then the Ordinance as amended was adopted, and by the following vote:--
