<br /> To reconsider the par~lng of Effin~n~m street.
<br /> After further ez~mination of this matter, the Committee has concluded to abandon the idea
<br />of parking on Effingham street, and to pave the entire width-~of Effingham fOrth~ two Blocks south
<br />of High; and for the three blocks north ~f High, to pave 20 feet of it on each side from the gutter,
<br />and to lay a 20 foot hard surface in the center between these two 20 foot paved surfaces.
<br /> It is hoped that this change in paving as regards Effingham street will meet with the
<br />provai of thb-'Co~cil.
<br />
<br />To pave Effin~n~m street its entire width, between Queen and County.
<br /> Our answer to this pro~ssition is considered above.

<br /> We have found this resolution, which reads as follows:

<br />hQWeV~r, that not more than eight men are so paid at any one time, and provided moreover they may'have
<br />worked the preceding day, if work shall ha~e been dens'by the street force on said day,'

<br /> It is recommended that the following hamed work be done, at said ~ngine house, at said cost,
<br />to be provided for by a special appropriation: Te~m~ke a ch~uge in the stairway, from the inside to
<br />the outside of the buiiding~ two doors_cut;~ that a door be put at bottom of the steps; to a!ose in
<br />the ~re~ent well hole; to ~ke down partition between the hall and stairway; that screens b& provided
<br />for windows and doors; and that~two windows be cut in the.wall to give air to the horses~
