<br /> Resolved, that the Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized to borrow from The
<br />of Portsmouth, The Eerchants and Farmers Bank, and The First National Bank of Portsmouth, the sum of
<br />ten thousand(t10,000) dollars, to be repaid from the revenues of the~current year, and ~o execute
<br />the City's notes for the same.
<br /> To adjust, with recommendation, the salaries of Secretary to the Board of Health and the City
<br />Clerk.
<br /> It is recommended that the salary of the City Clerk be $1~5 per month for serving as Clerk
<br />to the Councils and the Council committees; and that the salary of Secretary to the Board of Health
<br />be fixed at $200 per annum, paymble in equzl installments monthly beginning October l, 1909, out of
<br />appropriation to said Board of Health.

<br />certain suggestions made by M~r. H. Z, Watts therefor.
<br /> We have gone over.again carefully the whole matter, aud~make the followin~ reOommendations
<br />thereon:

<br />tor~ and he shall recemve l-l/2 Per cent for eollecting said funds, exeept on persgnal ~ro~erty and

<br />and on collections from the Norfolk County Ferries, 1/2 of one per cent,
<br /> It is recommended, moreover, that section ltl, page 69 of Ordinance Book of 1896, and section
<br />106, page 42 of Ordinanee Book of l~O5 be amended and re-enacted so as to cover the above recommen-
<br />dation in regard to commission of the 0ity Collector, and that the Joint 0rdi~ce Committee be in-
<br />strueted to prepare au ordinance therefor accordingly.
