<br />be added to the police force and that they be selected from the present police force,
<br /> Your Committee reports that they have considered ~gain the matter carefully and would r~eoommend
<br />the following ms a substitute for the preceding recommendation:
<br /> That the 0oun¢il increase the police force by two Sergeants of ~olice; that the said Sergeants
<br />shall be se_acted from the present police force; a~d that in future Sergeants authorize to be
<br />to the police force shall be selected from the th~n exmst~no force. _
<br /> It is recommended, moreover, that the Joint Ordinance Committee be instructed to prepare an or-
