If it is found that the Clerk's office diminishes appreciatively ~he light to the court
room a sky-light would be put in by us, sufficiently large to make up for such diminution of light.
~But we h~ve an alter~tive proposition to make you and one which we would prefer, though its
ceptance by you would entail much more expense on us than ~he putting in of a sky-light, viz: let us
divide the court-ho~se by a ~i~e r~oing north and south, the 01fy to have the east half and the
ty the west. If thms ~roposmtmon be accepted we shall agree to fix up your court room and T~easu-
rer's office ~quat in ~very respect to the condition in which the~ now are.
~ The Committee des~r? to add that while they have not been authorizedmdistinctly by the Council
to m~ke you a~y proposition about a sky-light or about a re-division of the Co,t-house, they are sat~
