Finance Oommittee authorized to ma~e bores from time to time, to-amount of $55,000, in order to re-imburse the Paving Bond funds to that amount. ~500. to pay a bill of the Nott Fire Eng~-ne ~ompany for work on the Chambers' fire engine. ~150. for puroD~se of hose dryers, out of the *budget." $350. for pu=ehase of rubber coats and boots, out of the "budget.~ E~make award to Eureka Fi~e Hose ~anufacturing 0ompany to i~rnish 4000 feet of its ~aragon- Brand, at ~l.10 per foot. The regular reports cf Officers for~.July were presented and were ordered te take the usual course. The resignation of W. E. Calvert as a member of the Board of Aldermen was read and accepted, NEW BUSINESS. A communication from the Union Fire Company madeknown that ~. E, Gray had resigned as m~ag0n-man of said Comlmny and E, E, Owens had been elected to fill the vacancy; and asked that said election be confirmed. Mr:. Davis moved that the City Engineer be instructed to make the several tests required on the- as set forth in the spe'cific~tions.f~r th~ same. and such othe~ ~s~as may be necessary; an~ the Enginee~ to submit reports of these tests to the Street Committee~ Adopted.
