<br /> An application of the late Treasurer, Geo. A. Tabb, to be paid Tot services rendered by him to
<br />the City, subsequent to his term as Treasurer, and also to be relieved from payment of a check for
<br />$50.00, given him by C. L. Gilbert for a cemetery let, which said cheek was made on the People's Bank
<br />and was held by Mr. Tabb at the time of failure of said Bank.
<br /> It is recommended that Mr. Tabb be not paid for the services which he claims to have ~en-
<br />dered, but that the cheek of C. L. Gilbert, now in possession of the ClerK, be turned over to Mr.
<br />Tabb.

<br /> A bill of 0. L. Williams, for $64.25, paid by him for lmying a sewer main on the
<br />Middle street.
<br /> It is recommended that the said bill be paid to 0. L. Williams.

<br /> The 0ity Collector appeared before the Committee and. stated that, owing to the late re-assess-
<br />ment of real estate in the City, he would not be able to hmve his book prepared for receipt-of City
<br />taxes by October 1st, and he requested that his time Be extended for the reception of taxes 'until
<br />October llth; end also that he be allowed mn assistant, at a pay of $100.00 per month, for such work,
<br />for one<month beginning September llth.-
<br /> It is recommended that the request of the Treasurer be gra~ted.

<br />The City Engineer reports these pipes to 1be-in good condition.

<br /> The filling at the south end of Dinwiddie street is being done as fast as practicable; the
<br />Street Inspector h~s been instructed to attend to the grating at the corner of Court and North sts.;
<br />and we report progress as to the curbing on London street.

<br /> Advisability of pavingthe middls of the street and sidewalks of Amn street, between Cooke and
<br />Butler.
<br /> We have referred this m~tter to the 0ity Engineer to obtain an estimate of costs for the

<br /> It is desirable to pave the Boulevard, %ut as we are aw~e that funds
<br />the work, we mmke no recommendation for the paving at this time.
