Lucas is the lowest bidder for the work and as he is otherwise satisfactory to it is recommended that the award be made to him~ and it is further recommended that be required to enter into bond to amount of 50% of his bid for faithful performance of the work, accordance with specifications therefor. Authorized ~o advertise for bids to purchase 100 mattresses and 75 blankets for the City Jail. Ne have advertised for bids for same, and have received one bid therefor: From: Nathan Crockin~ Inc.~ for mattresses, ~1.05 each~ and biankets~ ~.90 each. It is recommended that the award for the ~attresees and blankets be made to said Company. (Signed). L. Gentlemen:-- Your Police Committee respectfully reports herein concerning the following matters referred zo the Joint Police Committee November BI~ 1911: Referred by Board of Aldermen November Blst. A request of James Talbot, policeman, for an increase of pay equal to that now being received by all other regular patrolmen of the City PSliCe force° It is recommended that he receive $2.50 per day for each day, after one year's service as a regular policeman. And in this connection, it is fu~her~rscommended that the ordinance regulating the pay of policemen be~so amended as to pay all po~icm~en $2.50 per day for each day of their service on the police force after lB months of such service~ and that the ordinance shall take effect from its passage. The report of the Committee having been read~ on ~otion of Nr~ Davis the recommendation in re- gard to amending the ordinance regulating the pay of policemen~ was referred to the Ordinance Com- mittee. Next~ Er. Privett moved that an auto-patrol wagon be purchased. The motion was lost. Then on motion the matter of patrol wagon was referred:to a Con£erence Committee from the two branches° Finally, the report of the Committee, as amended, was adopted. Gentlemen:-- Your Joint Com3~ittes appointed to take into consideration the matter of Redistricting the City ~ards and to report on same with recommendation~ respectfully reports that, after several meetings and conferences with the City Attorney and others, they have decided to recommend that your Honorable Bodies petition the ~ene~al Assembly to enact the attached bill, which~he Co~ittee believe will cover do so at the present time.
