Progress as to same. <br /> <br /> Advisability of cancelling policies on the Sixth and Seventh Ward fire engines. <br /> We have looked into this matter and recommend that said p61icies be cancelled. <br /> <br /> To ascertain the cost of a fire engine house on Lincoln street. <br /> We report that the probable cost of a suitable engine house would be about~$5,000.O0. <br /> <br /> Referred by Board of Aldermen April 16th. <br /> <br /> A petition of the Annex fire company for certain improvements to their engine house. <br /> We believe that the several improvements asked for by the Annex fire company are needed, <br />and an appropriation of $600.00 is recommended therefor. <br /> <br /> It is further recommended that an appropriation of $15.00 be allowed to screen the win- <br />dows and doors of the residential part of City Jail. <br /> <br /> There is an old sycamore ~ree on the eastern side of the court house yard that will be <br />near to, and an obstruction to, the new building, and it will be also in the way of the probable <br />new entrance to the yard. <br /> Therefore~ it is recommended that the Committee be authorized to have said tree <br />moved. <br /> (Signed).
