<br /> The report having been read, Er. Davis moved that the proposition to pay three additional full
<br />paid men for the Fire Department be sent back to the Fire Committee for further consideration.
<br /> The motion was adopted.
<br /> Mr. Markham moved that t~e section relating to an appropriation for the Fraternal Order of
<br />Eagles be not ~eon~urred in. Th~ motion was adopted.

<br />
<br /> Requested to give further~particutars concerning paving of the Star lane.
<br /> We are investigating to see whether the Star lane is private or public property.
<br />
<br /> To ascertain if North street, between Crawford and-Eater, can be paved for less th&n $~,668.00.
<br /> We have looked into the matter further, have found that said street may be paved with old
<br />stone on hand for $1,000.00, and we recommend~that it be paved at such cost.
<br />
<br /> ~A request of the Trustees of Friends Church to have sub-surface drain pipes to carry off water
<br />injuring their p=o~perty on the north side of Wythe street.
<br /> It is recommended that this matter be submitted to the Mayor and City Attorney.
<br />
<br />Attsntion called to condition of drain at the north end of Fourth street.
<br /> It is recommended as above.
<br />
<br /> To consider the advisability of dz~poszno of the City steam roller, and E~ting a smaller one.
<br /> It is recommended that the Committee be authorized to sell the steam roller, and that ad-
<br />vertisement be made for bids to purchase same.

<br />recontm, ended that the Finance Committee be instructed to make available $8,455.00 necessary for same.

<br /> A request of W. G. ~upin to build an overhead pipe line across King street, for conveying
<br /> to a reservoir on his ice plant grounds. Progress as to same.

<br /> Authorized to select a Board of Park Commissioners from citizens at large, consisting of three
<br />or more members, subject to the approval of Council.
<br /> The Committee have selected five citizens to compo~e said Board of Park Commissioners,
<br />namely, Rev. Arthur C. Thomson, Chairman~ T. J. Barlow, S. P. Oast, Mayor J. Davis Reed, and E..R.
<br />Barksdale, and it is recommended that you concur in said selection.
