Maschke to have refunded her $16.75 erroneously assesssd against <br />her. <br /> It is recommended that $10.50 be refunded her for erroneous assessment on real estate, but <br />that $8.E5 ~or ~oil tax be referred to the Inspector of Plumbing. <br /> <br />(Signed). <br /> <br />Jones Williamm, <br /> Chairman B. of A. <br /> <br /> The report of the Committee having been read, Mr. Davis said that he objected to the issue of <br />bonds-at this time for water works. <br /> Mr. Langhorne noted that several members from the Board of Water Commissioners were pre~ent, and <br />he moved that they be allowed the floor to explain their position. <br /> Mr. Davis ob jecSed to a suspension'of the rules to hear from the Board of Tater Commissioners, <br />~ud held that it could not be heard with the objection of ~ single member thereto. He called on the <br />Chair to sustain his position and the Chair so upheld. <br />Warm debate ensued on the subject between Er. Davis and several other members of this body. <br />Several motions were made without effect, unti~ finally ~r. Montague offered the following mo- <br />tion, which was adopted: That the Boardof Tater Commissioners be requested to furnish each member <br />of Council with a report in detail of cost of installation, maintenance~ supply, &C., with exper~ <br />testimony bearing thereon. <br /> The matter did not end, however, in the adoption of this motion. <br /> ~. Ballentine moved to have the report read and acted on by sections. No action. <br /> Mm. Nichotson~moved to_appeal from the deGision, of the Chair in regard to his ruling on Er. Davis' <br />Objection.
