<br /> We have looked into this matter, believe that it would be inadv~sab!e to make any changes
<br />as to manner of appointing or electing the paid men of the ~ire Department, and recommend that no
<br />such change be made.
<br />
<br /> Advisability of an ordinance to prohibit or regulate theplacinE of wood and coal yards in re-
<br />sidential parts of the City.
<br /> We have looked into this matter and recommend that the following ordinance be adopted as
<br />to same:
<br /> An Ordinance Governing the Location and Operation of ~Wood and Coal Yards.

<br /> The report having been read, Mr. Davis. and others objected to the recommended ordinance in re~-
<br />gard to location and. operation of wood and co~l yards, saying that it was rather stringent.
<br /> Whereupon, ~n motion, the ~ecommended ordinance was recommitted~
<br /> In regard to the p=oposed ordinance concerning lead pipe connections on upper High street, Mr.
<br />Nontague moved to suspend the rules in order to conside~ same.
<br /> The rules were suspended, and then on his motion, the ordinance was adppted and by the follow-
