Council to send back to the Finance Committee, with the Public Property Committee, for further con-
sideration of an appropriation for re-arranging the lights in the Council Chamber~ and to consider
also a re-arrangement of lights in the office of Clerk of Court.
Mr. Langhorne objected to this, stating that it was not what the Finance Committee had recom-
mended, but the Committee had recommended "that the appropriation ~r a change of lights in the Coun-
cil Chamber be no% allowed."
Whereupon. the Vlce-Chamrman of the ~omm~t~ee~ mn rep~y, agreed to N~. Langhorne~s statement
and said further that he had inadvertently signed the amended report instead of the report intended
by the Committee, and would now substitute the Committee's report for the report Just read.
The explanation was accepted by ~th~body~ wi~ the recommendatio~as inee=te~above~

Mr. Langhorne~Zhought~ moreover~ ~hat there was some discrepancy in wording of the section in
regard to payment of bills held up by the Auditor, the recommendation not showing the exact intent
of the Committee in. the premises; and, on his motion, said section was recommitted.

Then, on motion of Mr. Narkham, the report, as amended, was adopted and by the following
vote:
Ayes-~Williams, Langhorne, Ballentine, Adams,.Privett, Nontague, Narkha~, Davis, Murky,
