<br /> A bid of the Virginia Railway & Power Co. for a franchise on High street, between Effingham
<br />street and Ninth avenue.
<br /> It is recormmended that the bid of the Virginia Railway & Power Company be accepted.
<br /> To give the Finance Committee farther information concerning recommended appropriation of $1~B00.
<br />to lay a pipe line from London street To connect with present .pipe line on Glasgow street.
<br /> Progress as to same.
<br />
<br /> A petition of~the City Engineer for one mouth~s leave of absence, with pay.
<br /> It is recommended that the City ~ngineer be given a leave of absence for one month, to be
<br />taken by him a week at a time, when he can be spared from supervision of work.

<br /> Authorized to repair the pavement in Hampton Place, at a cost not in excess of $1E5.00, out
<br />appropriation already available for same.
<br /> We report that the pavement is being repaired.
<br />
<br /> Referred by Board of Aldermen July 15th.

<br /> Acomm~anl~a'~ t°ion from the Park Commission to have the Seaboard Air Line Railway Company remove
<br /> its spur track from the land lately purchased of Phillips & Nahoney.
<br /> It is recommended that the Clerk write to said Company and request it to remove said track.
<br /> (With Finance Committee). $100.00 to repair the foot bridge at the east end of High street.
<br /> We report that we will agree with the Finance Committee to repair said bridge.
<br /> A petition from L. C. Brinson and sundry others for the extension of Sixth street to Washington~
<br /> Progress.
<br />
<br /> To consider the cleaning up of weeds on the streets in Park View and West Park View. We report that we will instruct the Street Inspector to clean up these weeds.
<br /> Question~ of removal from High street, between Chestnut and Pearl, tracks of the Seaboard Air
<br /> Line Railway Co., and/if possible, to do away with a third track in .that section of new paving.
<br /> Progress.

<br /> To consider the advisability of putting a ~foot bridge a~ the foot of Leckie street to connect
<br /> with West Park View, and also to consider again condition of the West Park View Bridge.
<br /> We report that we do not consider the proposition advisable, and~therefore~do not recommend
<br /> Same.
<br />
<br /> To endeavor to obtain street car service for West Park View.
<br /> It ie recommended that the Clerk write to the ~esietamt General Manager of the Vimginia
<br /> Railway & Power Company and make the request.
<br />
<br /> It is further recommended that the Stre~ Committee be instructed to pave sidewalk on west.

<br /> In connection with recommendation to pave Lincoln street, from Sixth street to Seventh Ward line,
<br />and several other streets following named, a comammication was read from Charles Sullivan and sundry
<br />other residents of Crawford street ~o have paved all of CrawTord street~ from South to North, if p~ac-
<br />ticable, and if not, then from High to North streets.
<br />Whereupon, on motion of Itt. Moore, the matter of paving Lincoln street and other streets speci~
<br />fled was sent back to the Committee to consider with said pavement the paving o% C~awfbrd street also.
<br /> Then th~ report of the Committee, as amended, was adopted and by the following Vote:
