McGuire for doing-certain work on streets in the Sixth It is reco=~e, nded that said bonds be accepted~ The City Collector appeared before ~he Committee and stated that, owing r%O the late re-as- sessment of real estate in the .City, he would not be-able to hav~ his hooks prepared for the receipt of City taxes by October 1st, and he requested that his time be extended for the recept- ion Of taxes until October llth; and also that he be allo~ed an assistant for such work, at a pay of $100.00 per month, for one month beginning SePtember llth. Progress as A r~quest of sundry physicians and directors of the Sings Daughters' Hospital the roadway of Emmett street, between Green and Chestnut. Progress. 0ondition of drain pipes at the Washington and Dinwiddie s~re~t bridges. The City Engineer reports these pipes to be in good condition. Referred by Board of Aldermen AugUst 15th. To~onsider the advisability of putting some permanent filling at the south end of Dinwid- die street, grating at the corner of Court and North, and curbing en London street. The fitting at the south end of Dinwiddie street is being done as fast as practicable; the Street Inspector has been instructed to attend to the grating at the corner o~ Not,hand Court streets; and we report progress as to the curbing on London street. Advisability of paving the middle of the street and sidewalks o~ Ann street, betwesn Cooke an~Butler. We have referred this matter to the City Engineer to obtain an estimate of cost'Of the work. We report that holes in the street have been fi~tled,-~t-t~hat said streetcan notbe put in good condition until permanent improvements are ~ade thereon. To instruct the City Engineer to make~the se~raltSsts required on the Bi~hulimh~c pave- ment, as set forth in the speqificattons for the.came, am~- such other tests as may be deemed necessary~ and the Engineer to submit reports of these tests to the Street Committee.
