November 14, 191i. <br /> <br />Referred by ~Common Council October 10th. <br /> <br /> A petition of J. A. Person and others on B street to be relieved of drain water on the back <br />Of their lots. <br /> We report that the condition has been remedied. <br /> <br /> A petition of A. H. Goodman to ha~e the City pay the difference in cost between a granoii- <br />thic pavement and a brick sidewalk in front of hie store at the corner of Effingham and King <br />streets. <br /> It is recommended that the petition be~granted,'th~ granolithic pavemen~ to be laid <br />at a cost of $300.00 or $1.10 per yard, of which amount A. H. Goodman is to pay $.50 per yard <br />and the City $.60 per yard. <br /> <br /> A petition of .S~ T. Barclay to purchase l0 loads'of dirt from the extension of Hatton <br />street, between Glasgow and London. <br /> - We report that this petition is being held up for further consideration. <br /> <br /> Authorized to sell to A. Ogg the old s~one at the north end of Washington street, at $1.$5 <br />per cubic yard. <br /> We report that this stone has been sold to Mr. Ogg. <br /> <br />Referred by Board of Alderme~u October 17th. <br /> <br /> Nater standing in depressions on the lately paved streets at the corner of London and Craw- <br />ford streets, and sundry other places. <br /> The City Engineer's attention has been called.to this matter, and the-same is being <br />remedied. <br /> <br /> Advisability of using a street sprinklerI to be drawn on the electric railway tracks in the <br />City~ <br /> We believe the same to be advisable, and will reconm~end that the Committee be a~tho- <br />rized to take up the matter with the Virginia Railway & Power Company. <br /> <br />A resolution for changing the name of <br /> Progress as to same. <br /> <br />Fottrth street <br /> <br />to Court. <br /> <br />J.
