<br /> Bond Of R. P. Denby for doing work on certain streets in the Seventh Ward.
<br /> We have examined this bond and recommend that it be accepted.

<br /> A request of the Wise Cigar News Company and others to have refunded themthe amount paid
<br />for license tax on slot machines.
<br /> It is recommended that the petitioners be allowed a rebate of five-sixths of~the amount
<br />paid the City as a license tax on each slot machine.
<br />
<br /> An application of the Physician to th~ Poor for an increase of salary to $i,000.00 per year.

<br /> A request of the Superintendent of Public Schools-for an appropriation of $55,555.00 for

<br /> It is r~commended that the request of the Treasurer be granted, and that the following
<br />resolution be adopted therefor:

<br />to renew notes in The Bank of Portsmouth, The Merchants' & Farmersr Bank, the Bank Of Tidewater,

<br />19Il; said amounts to be repaid from the revenues of the City for the current year."
