Progress. <br /> <br /> Advisability of emplo~ing a reasonable number of "call men~ for the Fire Department. <br /> We think it advisable to have a reasonable number of "call men~ for the Fire Depar~- <br />merit, but are not at this time prepared to make recommendation as to numbe~ of the same. <br /> <br /> To require the present paid men of the Fire Department to assist the Chief in examining <br />all yards and the surroundings of buildings in the fire district. <br /> It is reco~nended that this matter be referred to the Chief of the Fire Department <br />for his advice as to same. <br /> <br />Advisability of having the paid men of the Fire Department uniformed. Progress. <br /> <br /> (With Ordinance Committee). To prepare a set of rules for government of the Fire Depart- <br />ment. <br /> We report that there are rules and regulations now existing in pamphlet form for govern- <br />ment of the Fire Department, and if other rules are needed the Chief of the Department should <br />suggest them. To prepare a set of rules for government of the Fire Department. <br /> We are of the opinion that ~rules governing the Fire Department aZ this ~iDe are, in <br />the main, sufficient, but would recommend that, if the Fire Committee can specify any other <br />needed rules, they call the attention of this Conmittee to them. <br /> <br />Advisability of ~ ' ~ <br /> p~t~ns the ~Gleason System" into effect. <br /> We report that the "Gleason System" has already been adopted by ordinance. <br /> <br /> An ordinance to regulate the sale of pistols, and to prohibit the sale of fire works, dy- <br />namite sticks, &c.
