<br /> A request of the Portsmouth Rental Agents' Association for an amend-
<br />ment to section l~ chapter 5, of the City Ordinances, so as to fix responsibility on the occu-
<br />pant for the stoppage of sewers.

<br /> The Clerk stated that he has a quantity of useless Oouncil papers on hand which should be
<br />destroyed, and he requested that a Committee of Supervision in the matter be appointed.
<br /> The request was grouted, and Messrs. Brinson and Heath were appointed on the Commit-
<br />tee from this body.

<br /> The. "call" for the meeting having been read~ Mr. Hall stated that he had requested Presi-
<br />dent Walker of the Board of Aldermen to join with him in asking for a special session of the
<br />two bodies of Council~ because cf a meeting which he had attended in Norfolk several days ago,
<br />%o consider the sanitation of Norfolk and Portsmouth and neighbogingm-oOmmunitiss~ and he wished
<br />the other members of Council to know as much about what ~ransptred at that meeting as he had
<br />learned there; he then stated that Dr. P. 8. ~chenck, Health Officer of Norfolk, Dr. Southgate
<br />Leigh, President of the Hampton Roads Health Association, and Mr. H. K. Wotcot% President of
<br />the Norfolk Board of Trade~ were present, and he moved that the ryles be suspended to hear from
<br />these gentlemen on the subject of s~nitation. Th~ motion was adopted.

<br />Association~ and that the object of this Association is to so handle the health situation in the
