Progress. <br /> <br />in regard <br /> <br />to building a <br /> <br />fire company house <br /> <br />Referred by Board of Aldermen February BOth. <br /> <br /> Advisability of a building code and of havin~ Chief of the Fire Department act as a Build- <br />Inspector. <br /> We ask for further instructions concerning same, <br /> <br /> Advisability of employing a reasonable number of "called men" for the Fire Department. <br /> We report that we do not approve of having "called men," but it is recommende~-instead <br />that 3 additional full oaid men be employed~ one each at the Independent, Chambers~ and Pa~k <br />View fire companies. <br /> <br /> To require the nresent oaid men of the Fire Deeartment to assist the Chief in examining <br />all yards and the surroundings of buildings in the fire district. <br /> It is recommended that the Chief be instructed to examine all yards and surroundings <br />of buildings, with the assistance of any paid men detailed by him for the purpose. <br /> <br /> Advisability of having the Daid men of the Fire DeDartment uniformed. <br /> We defer action on this matter until the new rules and regulations for the Fire De- <br />partment are adopted. <br /> (Signed).
