Brinson said he thought the additional armory and storage facilities for Grimes Bat- tery ought to be provided for less than $!0~000~ and he moved to amend that the~ ComMittee be~ authorized to obtain modified plans and specifications to cover a smaller cost for same. The amendment was adopted. Er. Baker abjected to the recommendation of the Committee to have the old tree on the east side of the court house removed, and he moved to amend that the recom~nendation therefor be not adopted. Whereupon~ the Chairman of the Committee explained why the tree shoul~ be removed, and the amendment by Mr. Baker was lost. Then the report, as amended, was adopted, the~several recommended appropriation being referred to the ~inanoe. Con~nittee. Fire-- Hon. Common Council.
