Auqust 23, 1994 (b) Request by Mayor Webb to explore the cost of updating the telephone message systems within the City Hall telephone network. (c) Request by Mr. Griffin to the City Manager to provide the Council and the media with an update on the Section VIII program in the City's public housing facilities. 94-348 - ReCeipt of Other Co~m~unications There were no other communications received. 94-349 Continuation of Non-Agenda Speakers There were no other non-agenda speakers. Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Martin, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions by the City Council, as permitted under Subsection (A} (1); (2) Consideration of the use or acquisition of real property for public purpose in the southern, Washington Park, Churchland and central portions of the City, as permitted under subsection (A) (3); (3) Consideration of a personnel matter concerning the City Manager's Staff, as permitted under Subsection (A) (1)~. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion of Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Hawks pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Councilmember's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. On motion meeting was adjourned at 10:15 p.m.. APPROVED - Mayor City Clerk
