<br /> Mr. D~wson made a verbal report on condition of the Fire Department and asked to have re-
<br />ferred t~ Public Property Committee a statement of certain painting, repairs, &c., needed at the
<br />several engine houses, and also the erection of a fire engine house in the Fourth Ward.

<br /> The Chairman of the Finance Committee requested that the Chairman of the several 6ouncil

<br />work on High street. The motion was adopted.

<br /> Mr. Dewson moved that the Finance Committee make available appropriations of $t~0.00 and
<br />$~00.00 for six shut-off nozzles and three relief valves~ respectively, allowed in the budget
<br />for 19lB. The motion was adopted.

<br /> Mr. Dewson moved to instruct the Auditor to pay a bill of $~85.00 when properly approved
<br />by'~he Fire Committee, for ~ horse bought for the Independent engine, out of an appropriation
<br />of $$00.00 allowed for same, and to credit the Fire Department with the balance of.~144.00, the
<br />said amount being a difference ~eceived between $E85.00 and amount received by sale of old horse.

<br /> A petition of Mrs.. Mercer Watson to be refunded $30.00 paid in error for taxes fort the year

<br /> A bill of the C~roner to amount of $60.00, for inquests held during August and September~
<br />191~.
<br /> Authorized and diracted to prepare and issue ~600,000.00 of bonds to establish water works,
<br />&c.,. for the City.
<br /> A petition of the Clerk of Court to have rebound sundry record books in his office.
<br /> A bill of the Treasurer ~o amoun~ of $59.50 for State taxes on the Sea, card Marke£ Building

<br /> A request of the Board of Police Commissioners for a second Sergeant of Police.

<br /> The Clerk reported to the President that~no bids had been received for purchase of a fran-

<br />nue~ in accordance with the ordinance providing therefdr, and~ the President so announced ~o the
<br />body.
