Brinkiey requesting action on petition of Miss Eliza- <br />beth A. Lawless for relief from payment of certain City taxes. Progrees. <br /> <br /> A petition from Ers. Mercer Watson to be re~anded $$0.00 paid in error for taxes for the <br />year 1911. <br /> It is recommended that a special appropriation to said amount be allowed for this pur- <br />pose. <br /> <br />~ng for <br />bill. <br /> <br />A bill of the Coroner to amount of $60.00, for inquests held during AugUst and September. <br /> It is recommended that an appropriation to said amount be allowed to pay the bill. <br /> <br />Authorized and directed to prepare and issue $800,000.00 of ~onds to establish water works, <br />for the City. Progress. <br /> <br />A bill of the Treasurer to amount of $59~BO for State taxes on the Seaboard Market Build- <br /> the year 1912. <br /> It is recommended that a special appropriation to said amount be allowed-to pay the <br /> <br /> A p~tition of the Clerk of Court to have rebound sundry record books in his office. <br /> It is recommended that the Clerk be advised to state what amount of records he wishes <br /> rebound'and probable cos~ of same. <br /> <br /> $200.00 to entertain the Naval Committee,~ &c., on a visit to Portsmouth, in interest ~of <br /> this community. <br /> It is recommended that a special appropriation to said amount be allowed. <br /> <br /> Certain bills for registration, &c., in connection with election~ to amount of <br /> It is recommended that said bills be allowed. <br /> A request of the Board of Police Commissioners for a second Sergeant of Police. C. <br /> <br /> On motion, the report of the Committee was adopted and by the following vote: <br /> Ayes--~e~bit$, <br />Hall, ~Benson, Hanvey, Baker~ Johnson, Heath, Walker, Tyler, Hutchins, Parker, Beisel, Cooke, 13. <br /> <br /> In connection with this report, Mr. Hall moved that the Finance Committee consider: <br />how funds are to ~e raised for payment of the $10,000.00 for purchase of the "Nahoney tract." as <br />a Ps_ri and Playground; the advisability of purchasing from the Emmerson estate a frontage on <br />Cour~ sITeet of not less than fmfty feet, to give access to said par~ a~l~d playground; and the <br />advisability of purchasing as a playground for~ children of Park View nine lots on the east side <br />cf Owens street, between Ann and A, for $~500.0~.
