Common Council. <br /> <br /> ~ Gentlemen:-- Your Pinanoe Committee respectfully reports <br /> <br />herein concerning the foltowi~g matters referred to the Joint Finance Committee January 18-~1, <br /> <br />1913: <br /> <br />Referred by Common Council January 16th. <br /> <br /> ReoommiSted. An appropriation of $5,000.00 to King's Daughters Hospital building. <br /> This appropriation was referred back to the Committee to consider what rights the <br />City would have in said building, &c.~ In accordance therewith we have communicated with the <br />"Hospital Committee on Appropriation from the City" and have received in reply the following <br />from J. Davis Reed, its Chairman. (See communication attached~. <br /> Therefore, it is recommended that said appropriation of $5,000.00 (the first instal- <br />ment of the $15,000.00 asked to be appropriated in three years) be made for the hospital, pro- <br />vi~ed the City can retain five (5) beds therein for its service. (See communication from J. <br />Davis Reed in regard to said recommendation). <br /> <br /> Recommitted. An appropriation of $7,500.00 for Grimes Battery Gun Room. <br /> This appropriation was~reo0mmitted to the Finance Committee for additional informa- <br /> ti$~, We beg to say that we recomm~ended the appropriation because of a previous promise to do <br /> soi~ the "budget" for 1915. <br /> We report that we are informed by ~Captain Brinktey, of the Company, that an annual <br /> sttm0f $~,500.00 to SA,000~00 is expended in this City by the Grimes Battery, which appears to <br /> be~a~E00d investment~ that the extensive equipment of ~$1~0~GO0.OG plaoed h~re by the ~. S.
