September 12, 1994 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council held on Monday, <br />September 12, 1994, there were present: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, <br />*Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., *James C. Hawks, James T. Martin, <br />C~uneron C. Pitts, *P. Ward Robinett, Jr., C. W. McCoy, Assistant <br />City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney. <br /> <br />94-351 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be <br />held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 <br />Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Monday, September 12, 1994, for <br />the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an <br />Executive Session. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />94-352 - The following item was discussed in the Public Work <br />Session: <br /> <br />1. Car Wash/Quick Lube Business in Commercial C-1 Zoning <br />Districts with Use Permit <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Pitts to go into <br />Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of <br />the Code of Virginia for the following: <br /> <br /> (1) Consideration of appointments to Boards and Commissions <br />by the City Council, as permitted under Subsection (A)(1); <br /> <br /> (2) Consideration of the use or acquisition of real <br />property for public purpose in the southern portion of the City <br />and the disposition and use of publicly held real property in <br />the Churchland portion of the City, as permitted under <br />Subsection (A) (3). <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, pursuant <br />to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to <br />the best of the Council member's knowledge during the <br />immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: <br /> <br /> (1) Only public business matters lawfully exempted from <br />open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information <br />Act, and <br /> <br /> (2) Only such public business matters as were identified <br />in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were <br />heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> On motion meeting adjourned. <br />APPROVED - ~4~]~ <br /> <br /> Mayor <br /> <br />Sheil~ Powell Pittman, CMC/AAE <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
