<br /> A request of the Treasurer to borrow $5~000.00 to meet~School Expenses for Say, 1913.
<br /> It is recommended that the request of the~Treasurer be granted, and that the follow-
<br /> ing resolution be adopted therefor: · -
<br /> Res0Ived, That the Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized to make notes in The
<br />Ban~'ofP~tsmOUt~,The Merchants' & Farmers' Bank, the Bank of Tid~water,-and The First ~ational
<br />Bank of Portsmouth, to amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5~000.00), to meet School Expenses for
<br />the month of May~ 1915; said amount to.be repaid from revenues of the City for the current year.

<br /> A report of the Auditor of the following bills held ~ by him, because of lack of appropri-
<br />~o~fo~ ~em ~r because_they exceeded 1/iS~ of appropriation allowed for same: Patrol Wagon,

<br /> it ~s recommended that said amounts of $17.96 and $11.00 be allowed ~o Police and Pub-
<br />lic Property Departments, respeQtively, provided that not more than 1/i~ of the yearly appropri-
<br />ations for these Departments be expended~ and that the oldest bills due shall take priority for
<br />payment.

<br /> A request of the Board of Health to be allowed to use a portion of a~ount set aaide for Of-
<br />floe Clerk, .for purchase of a typewriter for office of the Sanita=y Inspector.
<br /> It is recommended that $100.00, or as much of the same as may be necessary~ be allow-
<br />ed~ out of said salary,~ for the purpose named.

<br />To make available $500.00 allowed in the Budget for new work on the fire-alarm telegraph

<br /> (With Police Committee). An appropriation of ~150.00 to meet rental and other expenses of
<br /> the Central Police Station.
<br /> It is recommended that a special appropriation of $150.00 be allowed to meet rental
<br />~nd other expenses of the Central Police Station for three months of 1~1~ and for the balance
<br />of 1~1~.
