<br /> Reported having examined bills against the City for the month of August, 1913,

<br />they recommended th~ payment of same to the following am~ants: $10,508.73 for the City Pro-

<br />On motion, the bills were allowed and by the following vote:

<br /> A request of the Board of Health for a special appropriation of $100.00 to cover expense
<br />of general lot inspection now going on.
<br /> It is recommended that a special appropriation to said amount be allo~ed for the pur-
<br />pose named.
<br />

<br /> We report that this balance is already available.

<br />in The Bank of Portsmouth, The Eerchants' & Farmers' Bank, the Bank of Tidewater, and TheFirst
<br />National Bank of Portsmouth, to amount of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($~0,000.00), ~aid~amodnt '.

<br /> It is recommended that a special appropriation to said amount be allowed for same.

<br /> $~00.00 for preliminary work of segregating the white and colored races Of the City. It is recommended ~hat said amount be allowed from the Budget for 1913.

<br /> Appropriations to place lights at the following corners; Southwest corner of Sixth ave-
<br />nue and King street, out of Sixth Ward funds; corner of Chestnut and London streets; and corner
<br />of Third and Nythe streets.
<br /> It is recommended that an appropriation be allowed for the light a.t the corner of
<br />Chestnut and London streets, out of appropriation to Lights, The other recommended lights will
<br />be considered for the Budget of 1914. ~

<br /> $300.00 to be set~ a~de as an "emergency fund" for the Board of Police Commissioners.
<br /> W~ ~epor~ that this appropriation will be considered for the Budget of 1914.
