SeDtember 13, 1994 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, September 13, 1994, there were present: Mayor Gloria O. Webb, Vice Mayor Johnny M. Clemons, Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Jsanes C. Hawks, James T. Martin, Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., V. Wayne Orton, City Manager, Stuart E. Katz, City Attorney. 94-355 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 1994, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an Executive Session. By order of the Mayor." 94-356 - The following item was discussed in the Public Work Session: 1. Tree Policy Motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, to go into Executive Session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia for the following: (1) ConsideratiOn of appointments to Boards and Commissions by the City Council, as permitted under SubSectiOn (A) (1); (2) Consideration of the use or acquisition of real property for public purpose in the downtown portion of the City, as permitted under Subsection (A)(3); (3) Consideration or discussion of a personnel matter involving the Public Information Office, as permitted under Subsection (A)(1); (4) ConSultation with legal counsel and briefings by staff members involving code enforcement, and the ABEX Superfund Site, as permitted under Subsection (A) {7). The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion of Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. Robinett pursuant to Section 2.1-344.1 of the Code of Virginia certifying that to the best of the Council member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Executive Session of the City Council: (1) Only public bUsiness matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and (2) Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Executive Session was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
