<br /> It is recommended that this bill be referred to the Sixth Ward Board for endorsement.

<br /> . It is recommended that this bill be paid, $1~,531. SS of said amount to be allowed
<br /> from Sixth Ward Bond Issue and-the balance to be advanced by the City to the .Sixth Ward.

<br /> A request of the Board of Health that the salary of the Sanitary Inspector be increased
<br /> to $1~;~800.00 per annum. Progress.
<br />
<br /> A bill of B. F. Long to amount of $~0.00, for getting up evidence in cases of Barbour and
<br /> Moore against the City.
<br /> This bill came to the Committee without any endorsement whatsoever. Therefore, we
<br /> are not prepared at this time to make any recommendation in the matter.
<br />
<br /> A petition of T. J. Norecock to be refunded $~1.40 paid for,night soil tax in the Seventh
<br /> Ward for 1915.
<br /> It is recommended that this petition be referred to the ~eventh Ward Board.
<br />
<br /> Requisition upon the City by the Board of Quarantine Co~missioners for $E55.00, for current
<br /> expenses of said Board for 1914.
<br /> We repo~ that such an appropriation willbe considered for the Budget of 1914.

<br /> An appropriation to pay for a Desk Sergeant.

<br /> The report.having been read, the C.ha. irman of the Committee in commenting on the bill of
<br />~. F..~ong. for $80.00, asked the Clerk mf.he had requested the City Attorney to state to the
<br />~ounc~s what he thought Mr. Long was entmtied to for hie services.
<br /> The Clerk replied that he had referred~ the m~tter to the City~ttorney, and the City At-
<br />torney had answered that, while he thought Mr. Long was entitled to some compensation, he did
<br />not know what amount to state was due him.
<br /> Whereupon, the Chairman moved that the Clerk ask the City Attorney on what authority Mr.
<br />Long was employed and of what use he was to the City Attorney. ~he motion was adopted.
<br /> Then the report of the Committee, as presented, was adopted and by the following vote:

<br />charge for opening streets and roadways not paved with brick,: cement or plastic pavement; .to
<br />amend section ~3 of 0rdinan~es so as to provide $3.00, instead of $1. 50, for each 30 feet of
<br />brick sidewalks opened; and an~ ordinance making ~ charge for opening granolithic sidewalks.
