272 <br /> <br />April 15, 1914. <br /> <br />Referred by Board of Aldermen February 17th. <br /> <br /> -To prepare an ordinance reducing the amount of bond required of the City Treasurer by the <br />City to $10,000.00. <br /> It le recommended that the following ordinance be adopted to cover same: <br /> <br /> An Ordinance to Amend and Re-ordain Section 139 of the City Ordinances, Fixing the Bond of~ <br />the City Treasurer. <br /> <br /> A request of the Police Commissioners for an ordinance to prohibit public vehicles from <br />standing on the north side of High street, between Orawford amd Water. <br /> Your Committee believes that this matter is fully covered by the preeent "Traffic Or- <br />dinance" and by general Police jurisdiction. <br /> Therefore, it ie recommended that nc action be taken on thio matter at present. <br /> <br />To provide an ordinance for the sweeping of sidewalks.at a suitable time in the morning. <br /> Progress. <br /> <br /> Recommitte~. An ordinance with ~gard to Redistricting the Oity, to c~mmider dividing the <br />Firet and Second wards~b~a line running east and west and changing the name of Marshall Ward ~o <br />Park Ward. <br /> Your Committee has seriously ~ud maturely considered this ordinance and can not feel <br />that it is wise to reduce the membership of the Councils below the number suggested in our last <br />report, and as the selection of councilmen for the term beginning September let, 1914, ie close <br />at hand, we sincerely trust you will adopt this ordinance promptly in order to relieve the un- <br />certainty existing ae to membership to be elected. <br /> Therefore, it is respectfully recommended, as previously recommended, that the Ooun¢il <br />be composed of 5 members from each Ward, 3 on the Common Council and Z on the Board of Aldermen. <br /> <br />Referred by Common Council January 13th. <br /> <br /> To amend section 60 of the Ordinances so as not to require the Presidents of the Councils <br />to sign warrants issued by the Auditor. <br /> We have considered this matter and recommend that the following ordinance be adopted <br />therefor: <br /> An Ordinance to Amend and Re-ordain Section 15~ of the City Ordinances with Reference <br />to Countersignin~ City Warrants. <br /> (Signed) C.L. O. <br /> <br /> The report having been read, the ordinances with regard to authorizing the Clerk to sign <br />City warrants and fixing the bond of the City Treasurer were read and were ordered to lie on the <br />table for thirty days. <br /> The ordinance with regard to Redistricting the City had been amended by the Common Council <br />March 31st, sc as to give humbere, instead of names, to the Wards, and to s~l~low 5 councilmen from <br />each Ward for the old part of the City and 3 for the Sixth and Seventh Nards each. <br /> Then the report of the Committee, as amended, was adopted~ <br /> <br />Alms hou se -- <br /> <br />Hon.
