' ' <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Moore, the City Attorney was instructed to give His written opinion as.to <br />whether or not the Sixth and Seventh Wards at the expiration of five years from the date of an- <br />nexation to the City, have to pay their own fire, police, water and school expenses out of their <br />own revenues. ~ <br /> <br /> Mr. Moore moved to refer to Rules Committee the advisability of substituting for~section <br />SE of adopted ~ules the following: "A member of the Finance Committee may serve on Auditing & <br />Claims, Rules, 0rdinanee, Ferries & Public Docks, and all special committees; but can not serve <br />on Street, Public P~operty & Schools, Fire, Almshouse, Cemetery, Light, Wat.~r & Sewerage, and <br />Police committees." The motion was adopted. <br /> <br /> On motion, the advisability of paving ~he~oadway~.0~q~ashington street and Hampton Place <br />was referred to Street Committee. <br /> <br /> Mr..Herbert asked permission to dispose of three old horses in the Fire Department and to <br />purchase a new horse, and the matter was referred to the Fire Committee. <br /> <br /> Mr. Herber~ moved that the Finance Committee make available the balance of $900.00 allowed <br />.in the Budget for "Ho~ses." The motion was adopte~. <br /> <br /> On m~tion cf Mr. Laylor, the advisability of paving the sidewalk on the north side of Ran- <br />dolph street, between Second and Third, was referred to the Street Committee. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. Burgess, the advisability of paving Craw~ord street was referred to the <br />Street Committee. <br /> <br /> On motion of Mr. White, an appropriation of $15. for repair of a hose cart at the Sewer <br />Power House was referred to Finance Committee. <br /> <br /> Mr. White moved to refer to Light Committee to investigate the lights of the White Way and <br />ascertain if proper lighting is supplied. The motion was adopted. <br /> <br /> N~v. White moved to refer to Water & Sewerage Committee to consider the advisability of pur- <br />chasing 800 feet of rubber hose for flushing purposes.
