R. C. P. <br /> <br />April 13, 1915. <br /> <br />365. <br /> <br />properly ordered, it is recommended that the bill be paid. <br /> <br /> Authorized to expend $500.00, or as much of the same as necessary, <br />accounts of the late City Auditor and of other City Officers. <br /> We report that the Committee is looking intothe matter. <br /> <br />for having audited the <br /> <br />(With Ordinance Committee) Matter of creating the office of City Electrician. <br /> Progress as to same. <br /> <br /> A request of the Sixth Ward Board that the Sixth Wa~d be credited with $4Z8.50and $$Z.50,. <br />now credited to the City Proper. <br /> We report that the Commissioner of Revenue states positively that the $4P~.50 and <br />SSS. 50 were properly credited to the Ward for the last year. <br /> A reciuest of the City Mission Board for an appropriation of $Z5. per year to defray 9xpenses <br />for maintaining white children given into the hands of the "white probation officer,, who is <br />Captain of the Salvation Army. <br /> We report that, while the Committee fully sympathize with:the Salvation Army in this <br />direction and realize that they are doing good work, in the present condition of City finances, <br />it can not recommend this appropriation. <br /> <br />Referred by Board of Aldermen March lSth. <br /> <br /> An appropriation ~o put two arc lights in the hall of the market in place of the four Tung- <br />sten lights there-and one arc light on the west side of the Seaboard Lane and opposite the al- <br />ley between the Seaboard Market and Barlow's store. <br /> We report that the reasons for the change are not satisfactory and that this Commit- <br />tee is looking into the matter further. <br /> <br /> (With Public Property Committee) An appropriation of $125. to paint the outside of the <br />Court House. Progress. <br /> <br /> (With Public Property Committee) An ~ppropriation to furnish coal at t~e City Jail for the <br />balance of the season, to amount of about $160. Progress. <br /> <br /> Referred by Common Council February 9th. <br /> <br /> A bill of J. W. Barlow, Vioe-0hairman. <br /> <br /> The report having been read, Mr. Houghton questioned the statement made that $~P~.50 and <br />$S~.50 had been properly credited to the Sixth Ward for last yeS. r, and moved that the matter of <br />crediting the Sixth Ward to said amounts be recommitted. The motion was adopted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Burgess made a statement concerning the usefulness of the City Mission Board and need <br />for the appropriation requested, and moved that an appropriation of $Z5. be allowed said Mission <br />Board.
