action for it <br />(Clemons, Hawks, Martin, <br /> <br />October ~0~ 199~ <br /> <br /> econded by Mr. Pitts, to table <br /> defeated by a vote of 2-5 <br /> Robinett, Webb). <br /> <br /> The original motion was adopted by a vote of 4-3 (Griffin, <br />Pitts, Webb) <br /> <br />(e) CA-94-12 <br /> <br />CITY CODE AMENDMENT A proposal to amend Article <br />II of the Subdivision Ordinance, Chapter 33, <br />pertaining to sidewalk improvements. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Martin, and seconded by Mr. Griffin, to <br />concur with the recommendation of the Planning Commission that <br />CA-94-12 be approved on first reading, and was adopted by a vote <br />of 6-1 (Clemons). <br /> <br />(f) CA-94-15 <br /> <br />CITY CODE AMENDMENT Proposal to amend Section <br />40 of the City Code, Zoning Ordinance, to allow <br />car wash and quick lube establisb~nents with a use <br />permit in the Commercial C-1 zoning district. <br /> <br />Robert Lawrence, 245 Beacon Road, representing Highland Biltmore <br />Civic League, spoke in opposition to the code amendment. <br /> <br />Robert Salas, 213 Beacon Road, spoke in opposition to the code <br />amendment. <br /> <br />Jerry Pruitt, 221 Beacon Road, spoke in opposition to the code <br />amendment. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Hawks, to defer <br />CA-94-15 to the regular meeting on October 25, 1994. <br /> <br /> Substitute motion by Mr. Clemons, and seconded by Mr. <br />Robinett, to deny CA-94-15, and was adopted by the following <br />vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Clemons, Griffin, Martin, Pitts, Robinett, Webb <br />Nays: Hawks <br /> <br />(g) CA-94-16 <br /> <br />CITY CODE AMENDMENT - Proposal to amend Table <br />40-44.1, Dimensional Requirements: Residential <br />Zoning Districts of the Zoning Ordinance to <br />increase the minimum lot width in Residential <br />RS-75 to 70 feet and in Residential RS-60 to 60 <br />feet. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Hawks, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to concur <br />with the recommendation of the Planning Conu~ission that CA-94-16 <br />be approved on first reading, and was adopted by a vote of 5-1-1 <br />(Robinett) Mr. Griffin abstained due to property ownership <br /> <br />(h) CA-94-17 <br /> <br />CITY COD~AMENDMENT - Amendment to the Zoning <br />Ordinance (Chapter 40) requested by the City of <br />Portsmouth to modify the uses permitted in the <br />Commerce Park (CP) zoning district. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Robinett, and seconded by Mr. Clemons, to <br />concur with the recommendation of the Planning Commission that <br />CA-94-17 be approved on first reading, and was adopted by <br />unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> <br />
