P. ~urry, Henry Pil~, <br /> <br />The m~nutes of the re~lar meeting May 19th Were read and were approved. <br /> <br />there were present: <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF COMMITTEES. <br /> Auditing-- <br /> The Auditor raported having examined bills against the City for the month of <br /> <br />Nay, 1914, and recommended payment Of the same to the following amounts: $6,51~.T$ for the <br />City Pro,er; ~T~O~ for the Sixth Wa~d; and ~$Z8~.39 for the Seventh Ward. <br /> <br /> On motion, the bills were allowed and by the following vote: <br /> Ayes~Williams, <br /> Ma~ham~ Langhorne, Floor, ney, _Ballentine, ~Adam~ Davis, Murry, Pile, 9. <br /> <br />Fine'ce-- <br /> The 0hairman of the Committee asked that consideration of the report be passed <br /> by for the present, as he was waiting for some information about a certain section of same be- <br /> fore signing it. Boa~d of Aldermen. <br /> <br />Gentlemen:-- Your Street <br /> <br />Committee <br /> <br />respectfully reports <br /> <br />herein concerning the following matters referred to the Joint Street Committee May 1~-19, 1~i4: <br /> <br /> Re~erred by Common Council Nay 1Eth. <br /> For examination and repgrt. A petition of James T. Caateen, agent for Hedges estate, to <br />be re-imbursed to amount of $1~.~0 pale for repairs to a water pipe opposite Nos. S14 and 8~4 <br />Chestnut s~reet. <br /> ~e have looked into this ~atter, believe the City to be responsible for the broken <br />water pipe, and recommend that the $13.~0 be allowed as requested. <br /> <br /> A petition of A. C. Thomson and sundry property owners on King street that said street be <br />paved from Court to Washington. Progress as to same. <br /> <br />To remove.old'stone o~ Second street, between Henry and Randolph. <br /> We report that this old stems has been removed. <br /> <br /> Advisability of allowing the ~ixth Ward to use the City street sweeper for three days. <br /> We report that the City has only one street sweeper in condition for ready work and <br />that ie in use continually; but there is an old street sweeper some~zhat out of repair which the <br />Sixth Ward Board could have fixed up at slight cost and use; and it is recommended that said <br />street sweeper be loaned to the Ward. <br /> <br />R~ferred by Board of Aldermen May 19th. <br /> <br /> To investigate and report as to rights of the S. A._ L. Ry. Co.~ at the southeast intersec- <br />tion of Water and County streets. <br /> It is recommended tha~ the City Attorney be instructed to give the Council his writ- <br />ten opinion in this matter. ~ <br /> <br /> ~m~y E~gineer reported that certain boardwalks in the Sixth and Seventh Wards are <br />in very bad condition and we would recommend that the Local Boards of said Wards be requested <br />to repair said boardwalks or to remove them. <br /> <br />(SigneJ) <br /> <br />O.
